A New Hope...

Finally, after only oooh, six months or so, I've managed to get my domain mapping sorted out so that flackboy.com actually maps to this blog.  Hurrah.

I now have a reason to update it and sufficient grievances, bile and spite to make it all worthwhile. 

So that's nice.  If you've had this linked for a while, you should, hopefully, start seeing a little more action hereabouts, which isn't suitable for the SG or Indoctriblog.

W00t.

Now I can post links to all of the things which I like, hate, love and would generally like to tell people about, but which even I cannot somehow shoehorn into the 'work' bracket.  Obviously there will still be a lot of games things in here, but more of the scurrilous and libelous stuff, rather than The News.

US Belief In 'Evil' Breasts Continues...

The Social Software Weblog reports that Livejournal (previous home of Flackboy's adventures) has asked a user to remove an icon of a baby being breastfed.  Yes the one on the left.

Live Journal's reason is that a search result which displays the picture could be considered 'offensive'.

Apart from the fact that this seems a little unlikely, LiveJournal's response seems to be on a par with SmartFilter's random and arbitrary designations of inappropriate content.

This seems ludicrous considering LJ is one of the largest repositories in the world of Slash Fic - fan created stories featuring characters from other books, tv shows, movies, game or even bands, in which (graphic) homosexual sex is the key point.

However, despite the hot Snape/Harry, Harry/Draco, Buffy/Willow (yay) and even Aubrey/Maturin (hmm...) action, the female breast still seems to be one of those things which is basically evil/offensive/upsetting.

Roll on the 21st century...

Rebirth Of The Cool

From the grim early days when LiveJournal was my blogging software of choice, things have moved on.  In leaps and bounds no less.

Now, The Adventures Of Flackboy have moved. to TypePad.  Just around the corner, with a lovely view of a hill and some spring lambs and look, a tiny rainbow.

But here is where the new personal blog will stay.  It makes more sense than splitting my time between different formats and well, to be honest, I couldn't be bothered resubscribing to LJ, when TypePad is so much nicer and cleaner and sexier in a strange sort of more mature and experienced way...

So, prepare for links, comment and possibly some original writing - as and when I get a chance.
