[MXP] CHeck Me Out!
Glasgow, UK, November 1st,
2007. mixibodz an all-new, animated avatar builder with
attitude - which enables users to create, dress, pose and bring their
avatar to life, launched its first public beta version today.
mixibodz lets users create, dress and accessorize their avatar and then choose from a wide range of animations to bring their fabulous creation to life.
Once the user is happy, they can export their mixibod to social networks including FaceBook, MySpace and Blogger – or even send it to their friends and family via mobile phone.
Users can create and save multiple characters, personalities, outfits and animations and save them on their own personal page within mixibodz.com. They can be loaded, changed, saved, sent and exported with a few mouse clicks, ensuring users can keep their mixibod as up to date as their own wardrobe, or expressing their owners emotion - as it happens.
“User Generated Content is having a massive impact on the Internet,” says Lesley Keen, CEO and founder of mixipix, the creators of mixibodz. “There is a huge appetite for services which allow consumers to create and customize their own content. mixibodz allows users to create multiple versions of themselves – dressed, posed and animated differently – and then use these avatars in different locations – on their social networking sites, on their mobile phone, or on their own blog. The content posted includes a mobile sending application that allows users to download and send each others creations from their profile pages. It gives the user creative control over their online identity – and it’s a lot of fun.”
mixibodz is built upon a sophisticated
mobile animation creation and delivery platform developed by mixipix
Ltd. The system has been used by mixipix since 2004 to create and
deliver animated cartoon messages to mobile phones for mobile
networks including O2. The launch of mixibodz marks the first time
the solution has been used to create and share content both across
social networks and on mobile.
“The mobile delivery feature within the mixibodz site introduces a whole new level of interaction for avatar applications,” says Keen. “Users can send one of the animated avatars to their friends, complete with an attached message. The recipient can then save the animation and use it as a wallpaper, ring alert or screen saver. It moves the avatar outside the purely online world and into the user's every day life.”
mixibodz.com will be regularly updated with new outfits, fashion accessories and interactive features to ensure users always have something new to try. The site will also introduce new features and support for a growing number of online networks and Internet services, to allow mixibodz to appear on all of the most popular sites.
“We have ambitious plans for the mixibodz,” adds Keen. “We've had some really great ideas while building the site and we've already started to get some fantastic feedback from users. We're going to be introducing some very cool new capabilities and concepts in the near future, so watch this space.”
Users worldwide can sign up for free by visiting www.mixibodz.com and start designing, creating, dressing and animating their very own avatars.
Animated picture messages can currently be sent to UK mobile phone users only. Mobile downloads and sends cost 25 pence each and are billed through the senders handset.

Notes To Editors:
About mixipix
mixipix was founded in 2002 by Lesley Keen, a
veteran of the new media, animation and interactive industries.
The
company has created a unique technology system which allows animated
cartoons to be created and sent to any
colour, wap-enabled mobile phone on networks around the world.
mixipix's technology renders each message individually, to ensure it
is tailor-made for each phone it is sent to. This allows users to
modify existing pre-made cartoons or create their own unique
animations. Once the animation has been created, users can add text
to create a personalised mobile cartoon message. Unlike a text
message (SMS), mixipix cartoons can be saved and used as wallpapers,
screensavers, ring alerts etc. to personalise the user's phone.
mixipix operates across the consumer and trade markets. In
addition to the consumer facing messaging service, the company works
with marketing and creative industries to offer a turnkey solution to
companies wishing to send animated messages to mobile users
worldwide.
mixipix recently launched mixibodz, an advanced avatar creation service, which allows users to create, dress and animate their own avatars before integrating them into their favourite social networking sites and blogs – or send them to mobile phone handsets.
