BarCamp is, a tech friendly gathering of sorts, which allows companies and individuals interested in new areas of technology (online, mobile and otherwise) to meet up, talk to each other and generally find out what's going on. To quote the website:
A BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from participants. Learn more or organize your own Barcamp! If you write code at BarCamp, consider licensing it under the BarCampLicense.
A BarCamp is being organised in Scotland, with a suggested date of March 3rd this year.
While it's not focused on games, anyone can sign up, attend and speak. It could fairly interesting to see what some of the non-gaming technology companies in Scotland are getting up to. Or, games companies in Scotland can sign up and tell people just how interesting and exciting the world of interactive entertainment can be...
Yeah, we won't hold our breath for that one.
The BarCamp wiki has more information.

Looking forward to seeing you and hearing about your work. Gamers and game-makers are very welcome indeed, and it's an area close to my heart.
