Some good news from the Scottish gaming scene (which is pratically a guarantee you won't hear about it in the mainstream Scottish media).
Absolute Quality is expanding, with 30 new employees joining the company to meet the growing demand for AQ's QA services (sorry, couldn't resist).
Absolute's Quality Assurance services cover every aspect of PC and console testing: usability, evaluation, gameplay, functionality, online multiplayer, compatibility, localisation and pre-certification testing for all console platforms.
AQ has also become a major player in the rapidly-growing mobile games
market, developing a web-based Entertainment Submissions Portal (ESP)
to perform automated JAD/JAR checks and providing immediate feedback and
online reporting status to developers and mobile network operators. The ESP not only handles evaluations,
certification testing and integrated bug tracking, but can in addition be used
as a content localisation platform.
AQ's localisation solutions are
co-ordinated from their HQ in Munich, Germany which provides translation and
voice-over services using an international network of highly experienced game
translators and state-of-the-art digital recording studios. Translation
services are provided from and into all of the main western European and Asian
languages.
AQ also provides technical support and
customer service for games software and peripherals from its fully web-enabled
contact centres in Hunt Valley, Maryland and Glasgow. Technical
support is provided using a mix of live and automated solutions including live
telephone, live webchat, IVR self help, FAQs and searchable knowledge base. AQ's Glasgow contact centre offers pan-European support in 10 languages."
We'll be speaking to AQ in more depth at some point soon. In the meantime, three cheers for expansion and good times...
