One of the highlights of the Sunday afternoon Screenings programme at this year's EIF (yes, we're mentioning the damn thing again), was the demo of the Wii Loop Machine. This is a sampler/sequencer which has been created for the Wii. You use the Wii Remotes to trigger and alter the various samples - twisting the remote to change the pitch and so on.
Yann Seznec, the creator of the software has been doing everything he can to showcase his creation and it's been working. He capped his EIF performance with an appearance on BBC's Dragon's Den programme. As you might expect, the Dragons weren't hugely useful. The games industry being this mysterious and baffling place for even the most experienced gym owner.
Yann however is undeterred and is planning to renew his assault on the games sector and find someone who can help him bring Wii Loop Machine to market.
Develop has just run a piece on Yann's plans (sorry) and our very own Square-Go has covered the software too.
We'll be talking to Yann in more depth at some point in the near future. In the meantime, you can find out more - see the Loop Machine in action and read Yann's blog on his own site: theamazingrollo.net
